Each of four teams is made up of girls from each of
the five skill levels. Team members do not necessarily play together.
While Pre-Pars and Pars do their clinics, the Birdies, Eagles and Future
Stars play golf on-course to earn points on behalf of their teams. Each
girl plays her game and submits her golf score. The number of scores used
is based on the number of girls on the team with the fewest players
attending that day. So, if "The Green Grapes" only have 3 on-course
players, then the other three teams can pick the lowest 3 scores from among
their players.
The lowest total score gets 4 points; the second lowest gets 3 points;
the third lowest gets 2 points and the fourth lowest gets 1 point. Ties
share the total points for the two places they tied for.
At the end of most events, all levels come together to compete off-course in
a Team Event for a Team Point which is added to the on-course points. A
running total of points determines 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4rth place. The team
with the most points at the end of the season is awarded the On-Course Team
Trophy at the Championship Banquet in November.
