The LPGA-USGA Girls Golf of Coronado is committed to introducing girls to the game of golf in a fun and non-threatening environment and to use the opportunity to promote life skills: esteem for herself and others, confidence, leadership, and the vision to dream big.
Girls Golf addresses the early need for a positive golf experience. To This end, it introduces girls to the fundamental golf skills and quickly blends these skills with social golf competition. During this segment, girls learn how to have fun competing. Social competition becomes a bridge between exposing girls to golf and having them play in a serious competitive golf event. Girls get a chance to develop friendships and learn how to conduct themselves at a tournament. Some girls enjoy playing in social competition while others progress and go on to play in head-to-head events because they feel ready to compete at a higher level. Each girl can choose to move at her own pace as she completes her own "progression checklist" (see left column for lists).
